World War II Museum

I don't know if everyone knows this but I really enjoy learning about world war II, it's something that I've always been really interested in. In Idaho Falls we have the Museum of Idaho. The last exhibit was the BODIES, which was absolutely amazing and so this time they put in a World War II exhibit. Ryan decided that he really wanted to take me. It was so awesome. They had a lot more stuff then i had expected. I enjoyed getting to explain a little about world war II to Ryan and the things that I had seen previously in Europe. I was impressed with the collection of uniforms that this museum had, they also had a plane (B-16

), didn't grandpa fly the B-17's? It was really interesting to see all the people in the museum, mostly elderly. I saw one man who was looking through everything and just had tears streaming down his face. Ryan and I were talking about how prophets and apostles always say that our generation will be the hardest to live through but they had to live through sending their sons and husbands and children to war and didn't have a choice. It's a very humbling feeling. Here are a few pictures that I took in the museum

I have been to Omaha Beach

These are the nazi parties ceremonial jackets.

This is the ticket they gave you, I thought they were pretty cool.

Ryan and I both walked out of the museum with a better appreciation for the men and women that fight for our country and our freedom.

seriously?

Isn't it only the beginning of October? Isn't there a season between summer and winter? Apparently not for Rexburg. I woke up this morning freezing because I like to sleep when it's cold, this morning was really cold. The rain from the night before had frozen on the window. I went to class at 7:45 and nothing was falling from the sky. Went to Book of Mormon and it was raining....sitting in Book of Mormon and IT'S SNOWING!! seriously?

SHOUT OUT: Shout out to Jenna for letting me borrow her red peacoat. It's something I've always wanted to wear and it's keeping me warm!!

Bake-A-Thon Day Uno

I decided for conference I wanted to have a little bake-a-thon. I have been feeling pretty crappy this weekend with allergies so kinda just been taking it easy. Here are some pictures from making cinnamon rolls today. They were SUPER good, didn't look the best but none-the less REALLY good. I found a little trick...instead of using cooking oil, i melted some coconut oil. made it taste much sweeter and TONS better for you

wish you guys coulda been here for the bake-a-thon with me! Tomorrow I think i'll make another apple pie and take it to someone...

Today...

Today I only had one of my classes and on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday had lots of time for the library to get all of my homework done...so today I came home at 10:00 am and went to town on our apartment. I was out of town this weekend and when i got home it was DISGUSTING. Almost every single dish was in the sink, crap was all over the floor, there were about 4 trash bags just sitting on the kitchen floor and i won't ever go there about the bathroom. (backstory) The first week of school I did dishes about everyday, I decided after about the tenth time that I wasn't going to do anyone's dishes but mine and on my shelves i have a note that says, "If you use these please WASH and PUT BACK!" Has this worked? absolutely not...I don't cook much over here, usually at Ryan's because his kitchen is bigger and the appliances aren't from the 70's, so I don't use many dishes usually just for breakfast and a plate for lunch and i ALWAYS wash them and put them away. This morning when I went to get a cup for my breakfast and bowl I didn't have any. Where were they? In the sink...OF COURSE THEY WERE. i was a bit peeved. anyway, after this long rant...I did the dishes (only took me 45 minutes), cleaned the bathroom sinks (never seen anything like those), swept the floor (there is actually tile under all that crap!), vaccummed the living room (who knew there was carpet!) and cleaned the toilet and shower...won't go into details there...ALSO I made some new signs for my things, If you are going to use my dishes please respect me enough to clean them and put them away. Lets see how this works!

(I so wish i would have taken pictures of all the dishes and the floors and everything...maybe i will when it's the same way next week.)

ps sorry for this very pointless rant.

UPDATE

After one of the most amazing summers of my life I am back in good ol Rexburg (as if you didn't know already). This semester has started off pretty slow. I'm still desperately searching for a job and applying pretty much anywhere I can, though for the winter it might be a little cold walking to work everyday...we'll see how that one goes. Anyway, I am really enjoying all of my classes. I decided to add a "prep for marriage" class, everyone stop freaking out. I just thought it would be a good idea. I have been praying and praying and going to the temple and reading my blessing and being with Ryan, the Lord is good with. Yes, I am listening not just to what I want to hear. Anyway, I have enjoyed that class so far. It's interesting, it's full of all first semester freshman...and it's about half guys and half girls. I LOVE my Book of Mormon teacher, he is AWESOME! He is the highest rated professor on ratemyprofessor for byui. He just makes everything so interesting, and he already knows everyone's names and where they are from, I thought that was pretty cool. I've really enjoyed reading the second half of the book of mormon so far, it's a pretty awesome book, one of my favorites :) my personal health and wellness class is awesome and i've already learned a ton! My teacher is a really old sarcastic man, he is awesome. I pretty much spend all day in the library, trying to get assignments done before hand.
It's also been really fun to get back and see so many people. I see Lacey pretty much everyday. I missed her a lot. I also get to see kadee taylor everyday at the library, it's funny because we see her everyday at the same time in the same place (creatures of habit?). I see lots of people i know just walking around campus or at the store and stuff and it's really fun. Lacey and I want to start up a bowling team, Lacey, me, Ryan, Thomas, Colton and Lacey's roommate. We'll see how that goes...should be fun if we can get it all together!
My roommates are really...interesting. My room-roommate is super nice and normal, she is only Gracie's age so it's kinda fun to get to show her around and hang out with her and stuff. She's super cute and I really like her. As for the other two...they are quite interesting. Southern Utah, or as she likes to be called "Tazz" is an interesting girl, she is from Twin Falls, Idaho. She spends her time on the couch and trying to mooch off everyone else' food. The other one is Ashlee, she likes to sing opera obnoxiously loud early morning and late at night...did i mention she doesn't sing? They are also the dirtiest girls that I have ever met in my life, there are always dishes in the sink, always left over food on the table and my personal favorite they NEVER take out the trash. There was 4 grocery bags full the other day when i got home just sitting in the kitchen. drives me...NUTS! One of them decided it was okay to bring about half of my plates and some of my pots and pans over to her boyfriends house because he needed them...I was so mad. I am not someone to usually say something but this made me mad! who does that!? She has yet to bring them back after I have asked about 3 times. oh man...roommates...

other then that there isn't much to say! Ryan and I are going to head to Beaver tomorrow for his mom's birthday, then on saturday head to American Fork. A kid he trained on his mission just got home so he wanted to go to his homecoming. I'm just excited to see my family. It's been too long since i've seen everyone! We're going to have dinner together on Sunday. We'll i better get up and start going. I love you guys and I miss you.
